African Birthday Invitations

These bespoke birthday invitations feature a blind embossed coat of arms along with die-stamped text in black ink. We printed on 1,000gsm white paper stock and added a handcrafted gilt edge to finish.

The Client

These beautiful birthday invitations were created for a private client from Nigeria. Although based in England, we are proud to work with individuals and businesses from all over the world. We love assisting in all of our clients’ print and design needs, no matter how big or small.

The Brief and Process

This project is a great example of working with a client who already knows what they want, but needs the advice and skills of our experts to make it a reality.

Our team met the client at his hotel and discussed the brief and requirements with him. He was celebrating a special birthday and wanted invitations that matched. They needed to make a statement and impress his esteemed guests. He also informed us that he loved traditional English design and a coat of arms, and wanted to ensure that was included in the finished product.

With this information in mind, we went away and began our process. The design for the coat of arms was made through blind embossing (a lovely process for areas that have a lot of detail), while the invitation’s text was stamped and engraved in black ink. We also included a thick white cotton card stock with gilt gold edging — a beautiful addition and a great callback to traditional English design.

The Result

This project took us around a month to complete. The invitations are lovely — simple, classic and very traditionally English, but with enough of a twist to make them stand out. They came in a bespoke envelope with white tissue lining and, when opened, the coat of arms and blind embossing is very prominent, immediately drawing the eye.

All in all, this is a very lovely project — and one that the client was very happy with.
